Board of Trustee Applications Devon General Hospital Foundation was established as a charitable organization in 1994. The Foundation is administered by a volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of enthusiastic people from various backgrounds representing the Hospital and community.
The Board is responsible for the governance of and providing strategic direction to the organization. Committees of the Board help inform and guide the Foundation in the areas of governance, finance, fundraising, events, communications, and marketing. Trustees function to raise awareness, and determine appropriate and effective methods of raising funds for needs identified by the hospital & community.
Time Commitment
If you are looking for a rewarding and meaningful volunteer experience, we seek committed individuals to serve a (3) three-year term on the Board. Members are expected to attend 7-10 Board meetings annually, including an annual general meeting, and participate on at least one committee. In addition to meetings, members are asked to participate in fund raising events throughout the year.
This is a volunteer (non-paid) position. Interested individuals, who are residents of or who work in the Devon and surrounding area are invited to apply. If you are not able to commit the time to a Trustee position, consider becoming a volunteer for events and activities throughout the year.
We seek candidates with a passion for our cause, a commitment to action and a willingness to lend skills, experience, and personal support to ensure we achieve our goals. Board member diversity is important to us. Ideally, the Board should reflect the diversity of the community.
Typical duties of a Board Member include:
- Attending board meetings
- Serving on at least one committee
- Serving a three-year term
- Assisting and attending fundraising events
The Board will review all applications and contact qualified candidates for further discussion. Those individuals invited to become a Trustee must submit to a police reference check prior to being appointed to the Board.
