Purpose of the Grant
The Devon General Hospital Foundation established the Continuing Education Grant in 2025 to provide financial assistance to individuals who have advanced their knowledge and skill sets in the healthcare field. The grant is open to individuals who are fully licensed (if applicable) in their current role as a registered nurse or other healthcare-related profession. This program aims to recognize goal-oriented, dedicated individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to their profession and good citizenship within their community.
Grant Funding
A maximum of two (2) grants, valued at $2,500 each, may be awarded annually.
Eligibility Criteria and Terms
- The applicant must be a resident of the catchment area served by the Devon General Hospital.
- The applicant should have completed the course with a passing grade as outlined by the specific program. The program must be an accredited healthcare-related course or an accredited leadership course. The course does not need to be restricted to a specific faculty or year of study, at the discretion of the DGHF Bursary Committee.
- The applicant is required to complete and submit the education grant application, along with proof of completion, as outlined in the application form, by the specified deadline.
Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted to the Devon General Hospital Foundation by October 31st of each year.
Selection Process
The DGHF will appoint a Grant Committee each year, which will make recommendations to the Board for final selection approval. The committee will consist of:
- Two (2) DGHF Board members
- One (1) representative from Devon General Hospital
- One (1) community representative
All applicants will be notified by phone and will receive feedback (if applicable) if their application is not selected.
